Dr Diana Gagliardi
Dr. Gagliardi, has a degree in Medicine and is post-graduate in Forensic and Legal Medicine.
Since 2005 she is a medical researcher at INAIL, Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Epidemiology and Hygiene, where she is the Head of Unit on Support to International Research Networks and Cooperation.
At institutional level she is actively involved in research activities on health and safety at work, leading research projects on workers’ participation, on models and systems to monitor and record work accidents and occupational diseases; and, on the implementation of preventive measures to control exposure to asbestos and reduce its health outcomes.
Diana is also the Principal Investigator of the WHO Collaborating Centre. In this role, she coordinates the development of the Terms of Reference agreed in the collaboration plan. She also supports WHO and ILO Secretariat in the project “WHO/ILO Joint methodology for estimating the work-related burden of disease and injury”.
In 2009 she became ICOH member. Since then, she has been Secretary of the ICOH Scientific Committee on Occupational Health and Development (nominated in 2009 and re-elected in 2012). Under this role, she has contributed to the organization of workshops hosted as side events in Congresses and Meetings organized by the Indian Association of Occupational Health, ICOH and FIOH. Since 2015, she is the chair of the same Scientific Committee.
