Eric, a Brazilian national,  is a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist with extensive experience in the agribusiness, infrastructure, mining and forestry sectors. He is an agriculture engineer by training as well as an accredited OHS  (Occupational Health and Safety) engineer.  Eric has a Masters in Science  in Environmental Sciences and also has completed a Masters in Environmental Geo-technologies Science (GIS).  Since Dec 2018 Eric has been working for the World Bank at a corporate level in OPSES (Operational Policies on Social and Environmental Standards) as an OHS corporate advisor, as well on the work of application of Bank’s Environmental and Social Standards. Prior to that Eric has been working for the IFC as a Senior Environmental Specialist leading the E&S review of investments for the private sector, helping IFC clients to develop  EHS (Environmental Health and Safety)  programs, as well as monitoring the portfolio sustainability performance of IFC clients in LAC.  Eric also had prior experience in leading companies in the private sector such as Alcoa, ERM and Monsanto.
