Gary is an Environmental, Health and Safety Lead for PepsiCo UK & NI working within the FMCG manufacturing industry across the snacks and grains portfolio. Before that Gary had worked within the Oil and Gas industry in the Middle East starting as a site safety coordinator and reaching the position of Country QHSSE Manager for Iraq with Weatherford International. This is built on a foundation of serving in the British Army for nineteen years reaching the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1. Gary has undertaken a number of academic courses and holds three degrees including a Masters in Health, Safety and Environment and an MBA both passed with distinction. The final academic challenge is a PhD in Business and Management which Gary is currently in his third year of study. The focus has been to build his business and management capability to develop as a more rounded Safety and Health Practitioner. Gary is a Chartered Member of IOSH as well as a Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). He is an active Peer reviewer supporting fellow members in the journey towards achieving chartered status. Outside of work and academia Gary is a keen scuba diver and actively teaches the sport to new members at the local diving club. This is carefully balanced with quality time with his wife Jane and two daughters Chloe and Amelia.
