Richard is a Director and member of the Senior Leadership team at IOSH. In his role as Director of Strategy and Business Development, Richard leads IOSHs activities with policy makers, regulators and the investment and business communities globally, helping to shape sustainable strategies and cultures that have the safety, health and wellbeing of people and society at their core. Richard is also an Executive Director of IOSH Services Ltd (the trading subsidiary of the charity), ensuring that the strategic goals of the charity and the commercial activities align to offer practical solutions to organisations that demonstrate how targeted investment in safety, health and wellbeing can both help to deliver long-term strategic objectives responsibly and have immediate impact across the organisation from bottom line results through to organisational resilience and reputation.


Richard is a Director of the Center for Safety and Health Sustainability (CSHS), an influential global thought leader that reinforces the role of people and society within the sustainability agenda, and the UK Occupational Safety & Health Consultants Register (OSHCR), an initiative sponsored by the UK Health & Safety Executive designed to offer organisations a trusted source of pragmatic and proportionate advice. Richard joined IOSH in 2014, bringing 20 years of leadership experience gained in the retail, distribution and third sectors. He holds an MBA, is a Member of the Institute of Directors (MIoD), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and a Chartered Marketer (CMkr).
